If you’re looking for the ultimate Mother’s Day gift there’s a pop-up florist in London offering a traditional bouquet with a twist; thanks to Wildabout you and your mother can design your very own posie of beautiful blooms to celebrate the special bond you share. Floral Masterclass at Old Spitalfields Market.
Between the hustle and bustle of Liverpool Street Station and the clash of vibrant vintage stores on East London’s Brick Lane, you’ll find Old Spitalfields Market where modern florist Wildabout are hosting an exclusive pop-up from Wednesday 22nd through to Sunday 26th March.
An eclectic mix of retailers, artisan producers, and pop-up stalls, Old Spitalfields Market is a melting pot of fashion, art, and culinary culture, and has been at the heart of Spitalfields’ retail scene for over 350 years. Visiting the market myself just yesterday I joined Wildabout for a floristry masterclass with a difference where I made my very own floral crown fit for a queen of adventure!
MY FLORAL MASTERCLASS AT OLD SPITALFIELDS MARKET
An iconic accessory of the stylish female festival goer I’ve only ever worn a faux-flower crown before so when Wildabout reached out to let me know about their masterclasses I accepted their invite with much excitement!
In Old Spitalfields Market Wildabout have created a mini-oasis of colour; roses in pastel shades, green hydrangeas, striking gipsofila, kitch mini cacti, and tiny pineapple plants in pots adorned the stall where I joined their masterclass.
Cutting small blooms and weaving my design onto a base of floristry wire I spent around an hour constructing my crown under the instruction of Wildabout’s master florists who shared creative direction and gave me some fantastic tips for recreating the design at home – Coachella watch out, this summer I’m coming and I’ll be wearing a real floral crown.
