One of the most enjoyable aspects of travelling is that every destination you visit has its own unique culture. Whether it’s a traditional dress, mind-blowing historic sites, or stand out cuisine, for the seasoned traveller it’s these subtle differences that make each destination so memorable.
If like me you’re based in the UK and have doubts about the benefits of Brexit, you might be considering finding a place in Europe to start a new life. Or maybe you’re looking further afield?! Either way, here are four amazing countries to consider,
Italy
There are many characteristics of Italian culture that attract visitors curious about the country’s rich history. If you’re thinking about discovering your Italian side and taking up residency you could consider learning the language? All I can say is buona fortuna amico Mio!
One reason to move to Italy – the yummy food
Italy is known for its Pizza. Made from simple ingredients pizzas vary hugely from one restaurant to the next and every Italian will tell you that their mama makes the best! If you’re dining out anywhere from Luca to Rome be sure to try some of my favourites; Bottarga, Lasagna, Fiorentina steak, Ribollita, Polenta, Ossobuco, Risotto, Carbonara, and Truffles.
Ireland
There’s always something to celebrate
This country is considered as a land of celebration, especially during summer. In fact, Ireland celebrates more than 25 festivals each year. In January, they celebrate Temple Bar Tradfest in Dublin. This where traditional and folk artists annually convene to pluck their guitar dedicatedly. Other festivals include the Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival in County Mayo, All Together Now in Waterford, and Another Love Story in County Meath.
New Zealand
Land of ice and fire
New Zealand encompasses some of the most beautiful lakes, mountains, and countryside on the planet. However, despite the obvious appeal, a high cost of living and elevated travel costs can deter visitors who long to explore these diverse volcanic islands.
If you’re considering moving to New Zealand you should investigate the requirements for a residency visa as they are quite involved.
Sri Lanka
A unique blend of old and new
Sri Lankan culture is a mixture of traditional and modern elements, it’s also a land of cultural diversity and a great place to start a small business. The features that have set the country apart from others in the region are their arts and festivals, ancient cities, and their art of dancing. All of these make an authentic Sri Lankan holiday incredibly memorable and the country a tempting place to relocate.
