Take a look below for some adventurous activities I just know you’ll love:
SCUBA DIVING THE SIMILIAN ISLANDS
Distance from Phuket – 70 minutes by speedboat
A heaven for scuba divers the uninhabited Similan Islands are surrounded by a 70-sq-km marine national park known for its rich flora and diverse fauna.
These eleven islands, just 70km from the shores of the Phang-Nga Province, are fringed with blindingly white beaches which pave the way to the coral reefs that hug the shallows, whether snorkelling or scuba diving you’ll find plenty of opportunity to explore.
TREKKING IN THE CHAING MAI MOUNTAINS
Distance from Phuket – 3 hours 35 minutes by air
Within a short drive from Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand, there are an abundance of forest hiking trails leading to waterfalls, viewpoints, and mountain peaks.
Trek through remote landscapes and visit hill tribes, experiencing the local customs indigenous to this part of the country, or combine your adventure with bamboo rafting or an overnight stay in a hill tribe village.
ISLAND HOPPING IN PHANG NGA BAY
Distance from Phuket – 1 hour 30 mins by car
One of the most recognised sites in Thailand, Phang Mga Bay (not far from Phuket) featured in the James Bond movie ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’, and is a popular destination for movie fans visiting Thailand.
The iconic rock formation of Ko Tapu, as well as several of the surrounding islands, can be accessed by speedboat, long-tail boat, or canoe and make for a picturesque day on the water. Here mangrove forests, caves, and island idylls abound.
